Experiencing God: Relationship

Reality 1: God is always at work around you.

 God was at work before the birth of Moses. Exodus 1:15-2:2

God was at work during the childhood of Moses. Exodus 2:1-10

God was at work when Moses was a young man. Exodus 2:15-25

God was at work in the life of Moses for a greater purpose. Exodus 2:24-25

Experiencing God: Invitation

Reality 3: God invites you to become involved with Him in His work.

God now invites Moses into the work that God has for Him. Exodus 3:7-10

He’s chosen to personally interact with you, His creation, to participate in His work.

His desire is to get you from where you are to where He’s working.

He leads you from being self-centered to being God-centered.

It never would have crossed Moses’ mind to do something like this if God hadn’t invited Him.

A pure Heart

God looks for people who will allow Him to shape them into the instruments He requires to do His divine work.

Jeremiah 18:5-10

Truth is to be experienced

When Christ teaches you something about Himself, He incorporates it into your life through experience.

Luke 5-10

Now is the acceptable time

God’s timing is perfect. When He speaks, the time to respond in obedience is now.

Matthew 8:18-22

Experiencing God: Communication

Reality 4: God is always communicating with us.

 God pursued Moses for a conversation. {Exodus 3:1-10}
When He does seek to talk to us He:
1) sets the place {Acts 17:24-28};
2) knows exactly how to get our attention {John 10:2-5};
3) will make it clear how well He knows you and will make sure you know Him {Acts 9:1-5};
4) will make His purpose clear {Luke 19}.

Our lives should reflect that we are experiencing with Him.
People should be able to tell:
1) we are filled with the Holy Spirit {Romans 8:14-17};
2) we know and obey Him {Matthew 7:21-23; Luke 6:46-49};
3) that we are in constant communication with Him {Luke 18:1; 1 Thessalonians 5:17};
4) that we are active members of the body of Christ {Ephesians 4:11-16}
5) what our worldview is and indicate how we might handle the  circumstances of life {Philippians 1:20&21; James 1:2&3}

Conclusion: communication with God should leave a divine imprint on us! {Daniel 11:32b}
